S'no way

Well, I was going to upload pictures of our street covered in a dusting of snow, but blogger doesn't seem to want to let me do that. So I'll save it for the intro when we finally get real snow. Suffice to say it brought on memories of the UK. Or at least the UK version of having snow and the world stops with a couple of centimetres on the ground.

It did make our dirty building site look kinda beautiful for a few days but it's all gone again. Apparently not having snow before the end of October is a major shock to most Edmontonian's. But I'm not complaining.

I had a few friends over on Friday night for wine and pizza. About 80% of them rang me at the end of the directions to say:

"'erm, Gill, I'm lost, I've reached a building site. Surely you don't live down there? Oh, you do... just keep coming, there's a little way to go... Right!"

Poor Lisa spent 40 minutes driving round the estate, 3 times past our house. A great reason to put up Christmas lights methinks. And when Tracy and Gord came to visit they were on their second walk past. A number sign too - great idea.

The mail is getting through, though we have to collect it. I'm going to test the local taxi service on Wednesday morning for my trip to Calgary. Wish me luck!
