Lost in Edmonton

Each year Edmonton holds the Corporate Challenge games. This gives all local companies the opportunity to enter into various activities - from darts and cribbage to mountain biking and soccer. Yes, they do play it here.

So today I had my first go at orienteering, and to be honest I think I did quite well. One mistake cost me 5 minutes, but seeing as David has done this a few years in a row, and he runs, I think being 10 minutes behind him is a great achievement. It was quite funny, navigation in Edmonton was left to a South African and a Brit, at the last minute a Canadian joined the team.

It was actually quite a lot of fun and got me out the house. The other exercise I did this week was 2 hours of Pilates, again much fun and a 1-2-1 session has done wonders for my shoulder aches. I found muscles I never knew about and it was a LOT of hard work, but it will all be worth it.

This week I'm off to Winnipeg and Milwaukee. I'm actually heading off to Winnipeg this afternoon as a 5am start tomorrow will wipe me out for the week.

Other news: the plants I re-potted have not taken kindly to their new homes and I'm probably going to lose them. The house has a roof on it now and the road has hard core down, so it's all coming along. And I've taken up 'stamping' (making cards 'n' stuff) as a hobby. We'll see how long that lasts.

This week also marked Daddy's 3rd anniversary. It was hard being so far away from my family for the first time, but I had a long chat with mummy which helped.
