What an evening!
I was running late at work to pick up the kids and when I got there I saw Roh's car. What's that all about I wondered, he knew I was on pickup.
Well, young Kiran had choked on some apple and the 3 musketeers had a ride to the Stollery in an ambulance to get him checked out. Of course, Dolores (day home carer) was considerably flustered and I headed out to Grey Nuns hospital because that vital piece of info was missed. I made it to the Stollery to find a hungry Kiran, who seemed to be fine.
His first gulp of water was a bit of a concern as it came out through his nose and mouth, but the next 20 gulps went down fine. After a checkup from the doctor we reckon he'd had a bit of food go down the wrong way. So we were advised to keep an eye out for indications he had food in the lung, but given it was a chunk of apple and not soft food we should be good. Note to self, time to change the batteries in the baby monitor. I hear enough random noises in the night as it is.
Having never been before, in the past month we've been to the Stollery twice: once with Torin and a bloody nose and now this. Not forgetting that 4 weeks ago today that I had a call from the day home, Tammy this time, asking me to go and get Kiran as he'd split his lip. 3 stitches later and now this, I'm wondering if we should take out shares in the hospitals here. I'm hoping we're done.
