On being pregnant

I have to say that being pregnant is a very strange place to be because it all takes place 'out of sight'. Yes, I know my tummy and other things are growingand can be seen, but my tummy doesn't have a glass window so I can see what's going on. It's weird, this little miracle of ours, cooking away in my tummy, growing, changing and getting all ready to come and say hi - and I have no idea what flavour baby is, what baby will look like etc. As you can tell, I'm a tangible sort of girl - I like to touch and see things - so this is doing my head in. I am quite impressed I didn't give in to temptation and find out what we're having.

I'm also hugely proud/ protective of my bump and do get quite agitated when strangers tell me 'it's only little'. They have no idea! We think it's a wonderful bump, and size isn't everything (it's also relative).

Kicking is still a fairly new sensation - when I spent 3 days in Winnipeg baby was very very quiet and I have to admit to getting just a little paranoid. Then I had a huge growth spurt and baby is definitely making him/ herself known this morning. It's fun, and still a little weird at the same time. I just can't wait for it to be more of a regular occurance so it's easier to share with Roh.
