This year Edmonton is hosting the largest display of Christmas lights in North America! What a claim to fame. Still, now that pictures are finally working on the blog I've attached a small sample of the images we saw last night.
Brenda has arrived and Roh said 'we'll go after a fresh dump of snow'. Well, snow obliged and we had 2 inches fall yesterday afternoon, so after much pestering of Roh we got in the car and headed off.
I'm still learning to use my camera so most of these were taken on 'Auto' rather than playing with all the different settings. Still, they came out rather well.
It was quite amusing, we paid our $15 to enter (for charidee) and set of round the park, which is a 2 lane drive, stopping along the way to take pictures. Well, the amount of folks who beeped was just silly. Hello! What are you doing visiting an outdoor light show if you're just going to drive round at top speed. So we found turning points and stopped and enjoyed the display. I know it doesn't do much for light pollution (thanks for the remider V) but it is impressive to know that little Edmonton can put these things on.
Our Christmas tree pales in comparison but it does us nicely.
