Exercise is good for me?

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that. Roh found a maternity exercise 'regime' (for want of a better word) in a Matt Rodes exercise book that had been bought with good intentions years ago, but has been sitting on the shelf very unloved.

Well, seriously, exercise in Trimester 1? You have to be kidding. I could barely get up some days. The joys of week 16 are that I really do feel human again. But back to exercise. Roh and I decided we would exercise together on Thursday night. I picked up the book and decided to try out the Trimester 1 exercises. They didn't look too hard really.

On Friday my legs were killing me. Clearly 2 reps of 8 lunges (4 per leg!) and 8 squats was just too much to ask. This does not bode well for the stamina I am going to require. Oh dear.

Then yesterday, Jenny, Sarah and I went for a walk by the river. It was lovely but within 20 steps from the house I had to ask her to slow down to my stroll abilities. Roh maintains I've always been a slow walker but this is just crazy. We had a lovely time on our walk, which only had to be cut a little short for mother nature's demands. Crawling out of bed today made me realise my leg muscles still haven't forgiven me...

And remaining on the health theme. I weighed myself when I got home from the UK. 137 pounds (9 stone 7). I weighed myself again on Saturday (my tummy decided to appear on Friday) and was 158 pounds (11 stone 28). Gulp. I flicked the machine to measure in Stones and was 10 stone 10 (141 pounds). So I've decided that the scales are very broken. That said, my tummy is now really getting in the way. Reaching things below waist height is just not so easy. Those squats might come in useful sooner than I thought.
