Creative Mummy

I always enjoyed my sewing but never really had enough time to do it. And the inclination to sew clothes when you can buy them so easily and cheaply, is just a bit of a no brainer. I was looking for some baby blankets, and wasn't particularly inspired and decided to see what I could find in Fabricland.

Well, it just happens to be sale time on cotton flanelette, and having waded through the pinks and blues and everything in-between that wasn't quite right, I came across 3 really lovely fabrics. The top 2 and bottom left are now being turned into baby blankets. First one made, I'm quite proud of it really.

The far right is being used to make a nursing canopy, to protect my modesty and reduce distractions for baby. Also, I'm getting this nursing pillow and I thought I might as well have coordinating items. So trendy ;o)

Now I'm working out what else I can make that baby will need. I'm not quite up to Brenda's quilt making skills, but mum is an accomplished sewer and she taught me the basics.

This can't all be pinned on nesting as I am still heavily into my card making and enjoying that too.
