Immediate impacts

This bionic sense of smell thing, where did that suddenly come from? And the nausea? It's like the doc said 'hey Gill, you're pregnant' and my body went 'ah-ha - let's go crazy with new symptoms'.

So yesterday (13th Feb) I'm feeling nauseous during the day and find that the Ritz crackers are ideal to help with this. Roh coming in with a big bowl of chocolate pud made me feel like i'd rubbed my nose in it, the smell was so strong. But generally, all was good. Crackers and water by the bed, I was set.

14 Feb: I made it through today. A small blip when Dana sprayed the office with smelly feet spray. Half a packet of Ritz crackers and off home. I couldn't get in the drive, coz of all the snow and ice, so parked on Roh's side. Apparently he thought it was my first pregnancy forgetful moment! Cheeky.

Cooking dinner was to be avoided, which was kinda weird. The pepper on Roh's steak was really strong and I tried to ignore my nostrils being offended by the smell of dinner as I dished it out. But worse was to come. My darling little parasite has decided that steak is not the food of the gods, or of mummy. 20 minutes later and I was eating cheese on toast and feeling rather slighted by the world.

It's still so new and strange for us and very unreal.

Yeah - super-bionic sense of pregnancy smell is a freakin' trip, ain't it?
The two things that nearly killed me were horrible-smelling dry erase markers and Fish Dinner Nite at BioWare during crunch...made me quite pleased to remain a vegetarian. :)

Hang in there, mummy!
