I'm not sure if there's some kind of rotation agreement going on, but bang on 7pm most nights, we get a call from someone selling something. Tonight it was a little different and I was left feeling rather flat.
The phone rang, I answered and a lady, with a speech impediment, asked if I had any old clothes or furniture as her Charidee was sending a truck around our neighbourhood. Sadly, with the 2 recent moves (1 to Canada, 1 to the new house) we have already cleaned out quite a lot of our stuff and old clothes.
Even with bags of things heading off to Charidee before Christmas, my heart plummeted at the level of disappointment in her voice when I said, 'no, sorry'. Maybe I'm a sucker, I'm sure it's done on purpose, but when you genuinely can't help it's really hard.
And we did have a really good cleanout when we left the UK. You wouldn't recognise our place now. De-clutter is the word we are trying to live by, if we don't need it then we don't need it. Except, of course, for photo frames :) I even went to tidy up my piles of paperwork this weekend and was done within 30 minutes. What is the world coming to?
I'm sure I'll bounce back.
