Crazy Times

Goodness me, have we really been home over a week already? And what a crazy week it's been. It all started when we got home to Indy's emergency trip to the vets.

Three days later and I was back in Emergency, for an insect bite on my hand that had gotten all swollen and uncomfortable.

Unfortunately no one told us that when our work permit ran out our Alberta health care (NHS) also ran out. At least they'll bill us the cost and we can then claim it back, but not really needed. One tetanus jab and armed with anti-histamines and anti-biotics, I was sent home. Within a couple of days it was all much better.

So, the drugs ran out and then I got bitten again... lets not go there.

It's been a week of activity for us too. Wednesday was a night out at Mama Mia for me with Jenny. We had a GREAT time, it's a fantastic play. We were both up and having a boogie at the end and realised that everyone else was sat down. How boring! So, we restricted our fun to chair dancing. The synchronised flipper dance was just fantastic, if you've not seen it you MUST.

Saturday was a fun day at the Edmonton Grand Prix - we saw some CHAMPS (?), GT and Vintage car qualifying races and the start of the NASCAR final. It was very exciting. Roh started commentating, pointing out the Corvettes, Porsches (even I can do those) and so on and ended up saying 'the white one, the green one, the red one...' at least I was paying attention. Free trips round the pit lane and into the NASCAR and CHAMPS paddocks were also on the menu and much fun. Photos are on Roh's camera, so we'll get some when I have a mo. It was very hot though, very very hot.

Today Jenny and I headed off to the outdoor theater at William Hawrleck park to watch Three Gentlemen of Verona (Shakespeare). Picture if you will, a musical interpretation of the play with cowboys, hippies and Canadian accents. The 14th seeded contestant in Canadian Idol was one of the actors! How's that for exciting?

And finally, to our house, which will be ready 6 weeks earlier than first planned! This is crazy talk in a town where most of our friends are 6 months to a year late on their move in dates. There are some benefits to a spec home after all :)

This weekend we chose the white goods. We had an intersting time. I didn't get the oven with the blue interior, even though it was very funky.

Next week is Vancouver and Calgary. I don't want to go, it's been fun spending so much time with Roh.
