Wendy, Karen, Tasha, Kate, Lisa and then Val, Radeana and me!
Dinner at the Mongolie Grill was started with the usual bag of goodies 'to help me through married life'. I have some pictures, they may get posted but silk granny pants, polyster flowery nightie, aspirin - get the idea? In the UK I had a Canada survival kit so combining the two will be amusing, to say the least. Actually, where are my reindeer antlers? I should have worn those last night to blend in with the locals :)
We had reserved a table at The Bank - a very original name for a nightclub that used to be a bank - and were sat in the vault. Poor Leah, I joked I was claustrophobic and she took it to heart, after a B52, rye and coke and a cocktail! Do you think they were trying to get me drunk? The music was a bit thumpy so we headed off to Suite 69 and after a very long wait in the queue the music wasn't half bad. How you can go from Summer of 69 to a dance version of Get The Party Started still confuses me...
So many people shook my hand when they heard I was getting married. A very drunk young man gave me his birthday tiara and a fair few drinks were handed out. I was spoilt rotten and had lots of fun. Having been here just under 5 months I'm still astounded and delighted to have had 14 girl friends out with me. I think Roh did just as well with his friends and a good night was had by all.
Leah, me and Jenny - a bit later on!
Kate was especially impressed when a youngster approached her and said 'you remind me of a movie star' and came back to confirm it was Annette Benning.
So, today we are fragile and may just plonk ourselves in front of the TV with some coke and crisps (chips). Andy and Niamh have just rung and been very loud - with Leah chatting away in the background and Ellen after scragging the phone. I can't believe I'll see them in 2 weeks time, less than even. It's all very very exciting.
